God Takes Care of His People

As most of you know, a tornado hit Prattville on Sunday afternoon. At the time, the Grace Pointe youth group was traveling back from Winterfest, a huge youth rally in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I don't think any of us realized how close we came to being in the tornado.

When we drove by Prattville Christian Academy, I called Mom to tell her that 1) we were almost home, and 2) the gym at PCA had been flattened. She told me tonight that the tornado hit at about 3:10 or 3:15 pm. I called her at about 3:30.

As I sit here and type this, I can't help but be amazed. Had we been 15 to 20 minutes sooner...I don't even want to think about what would have happened. A trailways bus, carrying about 40-something teenagers and chaperones, on the highway, in the middle of a tornado. Just thinking about what could have happened scares me.

God was watching out for us that day. That is the only possible explanation. I know He's always watching out for His people, but He was definitely a shield around us then.

Our God truly is an Awesome God. He continues to amaze and show us His love for us, no matter what.
